Lots and Lots and Lots...

Hey, guess what?

Don't worry--I'll wait while you shout a few guesses at your screen.

Bunches of new wallpapers on the way.  Howzabout we start with...oh, I don't know...six new ones!  And four debuts here too...

You'll notice I did a little bit of redesign compared to the older ones.  I changed the border to something a bit more subtle, plus I added autographs to all (or, at the very least, most) of them.

We start, as always, with my personal favorite, everyone's favorite reader, Belle®:

And we've seen lovely mer-gal Ariel® here before--how 'bout a wedding picture?

Unfortunately I had to shrink the picture of Ariel® in the wallpaper above.  Why?  Well, those sleeves are so damn big, of course!

Let's move on to our debuts.  Speaking of giant puffed sleeves...first up is the first up: Snow White®:

Anyone want a little Cinderella®?

Here's lovely Briar Rose® herself:

And, wrapping things up for this update, Princess Jasmine®:

As I write this, I've got about five or six images for each one of these characters in the wings (many more for Belle®, as you might expect).  I'll let them out every so often, so do keep checking back, and feel free to leave a comment or two before you leave...I'd like to hear if you like these or not.

Something a little new today...

I found an image online somewhere of Belle's® autograph, and it occurred to me that the cast members who portray the various characters of Disney® are trained to sign autographs the same way, so you don't end up with a wildly different autograph from one day to the next.

So, I found some high resolution images, did some tracing in Illustrator, and the result is this:

It's funny--I guess I don't quite see Belle® riding side-saddle.  As I said before, I'm no horse expert, and even if I were, I don't wear a lot of petticoats and big dresses, so maybe it would be more out of necessity than anything else, but it just looks weird.

Anyway, here's the first non-Belle® image I'm posting:

I've got more Ariel® in the pipe, and one or two of the other Disney® Princesses® (has Disney® gotten the copyright on the word Princess® yet?) are also coming...

I guess I don't quite get this one...I like the dress and all, but I don't get the maid's cap Belle® is apparently wearing.

Seriously, huh?

belle332 and belle335

I'm a sucker for this first one; I think Belle® is just super-cute in this picture.  So much so that I tried to crop the Prince® (does Disney® have a copyright on the word Prince®?) out of it.  Obviously I can't get everything of him out, but I think it still works:

And here's another one, this time of the two having tea:

You know, I'm not an expert horse person at all.  Not even close.  How many times have I ever ridden a horse?  Once.

Wait a sec--I did some recounting.  Zero.  But I pet one once.  (Petted?)

But I know--beyond any doubt whatsoever--that if I ever had a horse, and needed to feed him, I'd put on my best ballgown, complete with the biggest petticoat I could find, add some elbow-length gloves, get my hair all done up, then head out with an apple:

I dunno, I guess the experts at Disney® felt that Belle® couldn't be seen feeding Philippe in that ugly blue number from earlier in the movie...

I do have to admit I kinda like how this picture turned out; it's just kind of a silly setup...

(p.s. Belle®, before you go have dinner and go dancing with Beast® tonight, do everyone a favor and see if he's got another pair of gloves somewhere for you.)

Neither of these rank among my favorites, but they're decent nonetheless:

Belle330 and Belle309

Two more images today.  Our first post of Belle® in her pink winter dress, holding the mirror showing Beast®.  Then, Belle® in her favorite spot...picking out a book.

Belle302

My favorite.  Plain. and. Simple.

Don't ask me why, I don't know, but I've always loved puffed sleeves.  Doesn't make any sense to me, but the perfect dress has 'em.  Snow White®?  Check.  Cinderella®?  Close enough.  Giselle®?  Yeah, it was a joke, but still nice.

But this dress is perfect.  It's a simple little dress but is so perfectly accented by those puffed sleeves that I love it.  (It also isn't lost on me that I like that shade of green.)

Belle312 and Belle329

There's something about the pose and the slight alterations to the dress in this first one that I kinda like.  Can't quite put my finger on it, but there you go.  (Also, please note the heart-shaped tiara.  Disney Princess®, you've done it again.)

After that, the first one of Belle® in her blue jumper.

(Okay, here's the thing.  I believe that that style of dress is called a "jumper".  That's in American English.  Rest of the World English says a "jumper" is more of a shirt.  I've seen people online refer to that blue dress as a "peasant dress", but I think a peasant dress is more of a poofy skirt and blouse and not what Belle® is wearing.  So I've always referred to it as the "blue jumper".  And I'll probably continue to do so.  And if you don't like it, then...well...you'll just be a little unhappy.  Sorry.)

Semantics...

Belle328

The inaugural post.  Belle checks herself out in a mirror.  (Naturally, as part of the "Disney Princess" line, the mirror is contractually obligated to be heart-shaped.  With inset hearts.)

It begins...

Last year at Christmas, my parents bought me a Kindle® as a gift.  And I absolutely love it.  It's so much better than I ever expected; I wasn't quite sure if I'd take to it or not, since I'm an avid reader (and have way too many books around me in my tiny little apartment), but it's so much better than I had even hoped for.

Naturally, the first thing I did was jailbreak it.  Not that the wallpaper that comes preloaded isn't cool or anything--those author portraits do really look cool.  Just that, well, I don't want their wallpaper.  I want mine.

And what do I like?  Well, I love Disney® animation, and Beauty and the Beast® in particular, so I started there.  I pulled a few pictures I've collected over the years and started Photoshopping®.  And the results...I'll post here.  Please feel free to grab and use on your own devices; that's the whole point.

I should also add this: I'm not advocating jailbreaking your Kindle®.  That goes against the terms of the user agreement that you agreed to the instant you heard the word "kindle".  No one here advocates or recommends jailbreaking any electronic device ever.  That includes putting 5318008 into a calculator and turning it upside down.  You will not find any help here on how to jailbreak your device (though I would be remiss if I didn't point out at this point the existence of every search engine ever invented).
